Background

Great North Property Management is a full service real estate management firm specializing in the management of condominium association's throughout New England. The company is headquartered in Portsmouth, NH and has regional offices throughout Massachusetts and New Hampshire. Great North operates over 150 associations totaling over 10,000 units throughout the New England region.

Issue

With rapid growth in business over the years, Great North had accumulated several remote office locations which had limited access to corporate assets and resources. Collaboration between sites was difficult and inefficient causing support issues between its employees and customers. Great North was in need of technical solution that would provide secure, reliable access to corporate resources while minimizing the costs and complexities associated with building and maintaining a new network infrastructure.

Solution

Avidity worked closely with members of Great North's team to gain a firm understanding of the business processes in place which supported the company's day-to-day activities. Avidity then designed and implemented a network infrastructure solution which worked seamlessly with current workflows - enabling better communication, faster collaboration, and secure access to company data from any Great North facility throughout New England.

The network consists of several Cisco ISR routers which provide firewall, IPS and VPN services. Local LAN connectivity is provided to computers, file servers and other office peripherals by a variety of fixed and chassis based Cisco Catalyst switches. VPN tunnels provide instant, secure access to corporate resources and allow employees to collaborate more effectively using secured IM, shared network drives and other data repositories.

Avidity continues to work closely with Great North to address several upcoming infrastructure initiatives including:

  • A Multi-office VoIP deployment
  • Round the clock network monitoring through Avidity's NOC services
  • Remote Access VPN solutions for their mobile workforce

Results

With proper planning and execution, Avidity delivered a secure network infrastructure which connected all of Great North's offices throughout New England. Access to critical company data was provided seamlessly with no interruption to existing processes and workflows. Great North now has a network in place which is capable of supporting today's business requirements and will continue to grow with them as enhanced services such as voice, video and other mission critical applications are brought online.
